Research Assistants (RAs) are a core human resource of this institute. They are competitive doctoral students of Waseda University who are studying Asian regional integration. Authorized by the general assembly of institute members, RAs are annually selected through the screening of documents and through personal interviews.

With support and guidance from the institute, RAs participate in institute activities and develop their research — in such forms as conference presentations, peer-reviewed journal publications and working papers — toward acquiring their PhD degrees.
